Training on government procurement conducted
A three day training was given to deans, directors and purchasing experts of the university on Government Procurement. The training, which was offered by two experts from the Federal Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency, was attended by more than 97 staff members of the university.

Mekelle University colorfully celebrated its 10th year Anniversary
Mekelle University colorfully celebrated its 10th year anniversary (2000 – 2010) from 2 – 5 July 2010.
 
MU is established as an autonomous higher education institution in May 2000 by the merger of the two former colleges: Mekelle Business College and Mekelle University College. It has been ten years since its establishment. Over the last ten years the university has grown tremendously in its staff number and qualification, program diversity, and student intake. Currently, the university runs over 49 undergraduate and 27 post graduate programs catering the needs of more than 21000 students.
