The court of Menelik II".
Mekelle University Becomes One of the Official Confucious Classrooms of the World
Mekelle University is upgraded as one of the official Confucius Classrooms of the World. This is for the Chinese language program and is prestigious. The university has started offering training in Chinese Language Certificate Program last year and it has been upgraded to first degree level this year. currently, 20 students are attending in the regular first degree Chinese language program and there are also 200 students who are attending for the certificate program.

Nineteen delegates represented 13 Ethiopian universities at a reception hosted at the National Ranching Heritage Center, where they discussed possible educational partnerships with Texas Tech.
Sociology Department Holds Awareness Creation Exhibition
“Exhibition could serve as one of the best teaching-learning methods” –the Department of Sociology
The Department of Sociology, one of the recently opened programs under the College of Social Sciences and Languages of Mekelle University, has conducted an awareness creation exhibition on April 06, 2013 at the Adi-Haki Campus.
The exhibition was mainly focused on introducing what sociology is and what contribution it could have in transforming the Ethiopian society. Specifically, the event was framed to show the evolution of the discipline, its contribution to the world and its interdisciplinary nature.
