Mekelle University and Fujian University of Technology, China, signed a memorandum of understanding on November 18, 2018 E.C., at Mekelle University.

Mekelle University's Vice President for Academics, Dr. Abderkadir Kedir, welcomed Professor Zhan and his delegation. The agreement was made to address their respective academic and educational priorities. The two universities will cooperate jointly in applying for key research projects in the fields of digitalization and intelligence, particularly in digital technology disciplines, digital technology talent development, and the establishment of China-Africa youth innovation and technology entrepreneurship initiatives. Additionally, they will implement the "Chinese Plus Professional Skills" training program.
