

Currently, CNCS is undertaking a workshop titled: Accelerating PhD Completion and Research Impact through Structured Mock Defense and Scholarly Mentorship. This is the first of its kind in both the college and the university, aimed at encouraging PhD candidates to finish on time.


In his remarks, Dr. Abdelkadir, AVP, emphasized and directed to the audience that this workshop is aligned with the university's KPIs, stressing that serious follow-up is needed by mentors in supporting their advisees. Prof. Abraha, Dean of CNCS, also addressed the participants, stating that this pioneering workshop creates a strong platform for mentors and PhD candidates to ensure their studies produce a timely impact. He emphasized the need to recognize that our identity as a Research University is not just a title; it is a commitment to excellence, discovery, and the generation of knowledge that transforms society.


Finally, he noted that the purpose of this workshop was to motivate the PhD candidates to finish on time with high-quality and impactful research outputs. During the event, four PhD candidates presented their research works, making the workshop highly fruitful and successful.
