Mekelle University Participates in Seminar on Shaping the Future of Technology and Gender Equality
We are delighted to announce that Mekelle University, representing our community, participated in the "Seminar on Science and Technology Innovation and Women's Development."
The university was represented by Berhan Habte Niguse, Director of the Institute of Gender Studies, at the seminar held recently (May 2026) in Wuhan, China.
The seminar, organized under the "China Aid for Shared Future" initiative, brought together inspiring women leaders, researchers, and tech innovators from across the globe to discuss how science and technology can drive women's empowerment and sustainable development.

From delivering powerful speeches at the podium to collaborating with international delegates, Berhan successfully completed the program and received her official certificate alongside a diverse, global cohort of trailblazing women.
A massive congratulations to Berhan for her incredible work in championing gender studies and innovation on the global stage!
