Mekelle University Signs MoU with Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics
Mekelle University (MU) and Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic collaboration and establish a joint research center. The signing ceremony took place today, June 8, 2026, at Addis Ababa.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Fana Hagos, President of MU, and Professor Deng Hui, President of JUFE.
During the program, Dr. Fana highlighted MU’s achievements, strategic priorities, and preferred areas of collaboration, including joint research, joint academic programs, staff development, and staff and student exchange.
Professor Deng, on his part, reiterated JUFE’s academic priorities, international strategy, and commitment to Africa-focused cooperation.
In addition to the MoU, the two presidents signed an agreement to establish the China-Africa Economic and Trade Research Center, which will serve as a hub for collaborative research and knowledge exchange.
The ceremony concluded with an exchange of gifts between the two presidents, symbolizing the spirit of partnership and mutual respect.
