Dr. Zbelo, Director of Research Affairs and representative of the Vice President for Research and Community Engagement (VPRCE), Mekelle University officially opened the 5-day training program on Integrated Open Journal Systems (OJS), Research Data Management (RDM), Open Science, ORCID & Institutional Repository (IR).

The opening sessions of the training were delivered by Yemane Seged Gebru and Guesh Amiha Birhanu focusing on journal evaluation, scholarly publishing standards, Research Data Management (RDM), Open Science, and the use of persistent identifiers to enhance research visibility and impact.

The training brings together journal editors-in-chiefs, associate editors, journal managers, research and postgraduate deputy deans from all academic units of Mekelle university, and library personnel. Through face-to-face and online implementation activities, participants will strengthen journal quality, editorial workflows, research data management practices, ORCID adoption, and institutional repository integration.
