In his key notes speech delivered this morning, Director General of the Tigray Environmental Protection and climate change authority Tsegay Gebremariam stressed on the international support for sustainable environment.
He says securing sufficient fund is significant and that it is everyone's role to address the existing problems.
On the othr hand, Professor David Tushaus of Jagme Singye Wangchuck School of Law presented on community needs assessment.
Participants also stated that, lack of awareness being one of the problems resulting in environmental damage, government bodies who have better financial and execution power should take the initiative in tackling the problem.
They also reflected on the necessity for environmental plans in the post war situations stating that the chemicals from the weapons during the war have complicated the already damaged status of the environment.
Representing the US Embassy, Dr James S.G on his part underscored the cultural considerations, ethical standards, and providing results to help communities help themselves.
Associate professor of law and sustainable development in Mekelle University, Merhatibeb Teklemedhin (PhD), also presented on greening justice stressing on the interconnected roles of SDGs.

Dr. James on the other hand, expressed the need for the use of Alternative Dispute Resolutions for their accessibility, authenticity, agency and action through mediation, negotiation, dialogue and other traditional mechanisms to overcome problems related to environment .
Other issues of environmental problems and ways forward will be discussed this afternoon.
