 Presenters call for inclusive transitional justice process.
During the two-day national conference that has been commenced today in Planet Hotel, Mekelle , Neima Abrar from Jigjiga University, who presented her paper on Examination of Peace Building Policies, legal and institutional frameworks, current scenarios and existing gaps in Ethiopia said frequent and intense instabilities have been observed despite the measures that have been taken by the Ethiopian government.
She says conflict and violence have "dramatically increased " after 2018.

Neima says these turmoils have been rampant in Oromia, Tigray, Benishangul and Amhara regional states of Ethiopia.
Other incidents, insurgencies and inter_ethnic and resources based conflicts have also continued threatening lives of citizens, she says.
These being the visible realities, she demands on the need for inclusiveness of the transitional justice process in Ethiopia that is under continuous discussion with different stakeholders organized by National Dialogue Commission and Federal Ministry of Justice.
She says doing so would make the process genuine and fruitful.

Another presenter Befkadu Dereba of Hawasa University, on his presentation on a Delicate Balance between Peace and Justice : uncovering the long shadow of impunity and the quest for sustainable peace in Ethiopia, says governments in Ethiopia have been historically failing in achieving justice and accountability .
Befkadu, on the other hand, sees for the possible angles of applicability of the peace and justice hand in hand.
He notes on taking gender sensitivity into consideration with regard to rape and gangrape while working for repatriation and accountability.
Likewise, he calls for comprehensive transitional justice process that balances both peace and justice .
