Mekelle University, EiT-M, School of Civil Engineering in collaboration with UKaid, DT-Global, held a validation workshop on an applied research entitled "Safety and Mobility challenges of person with disability in Mekelle city - towards inclusive urban transport".
PWDs in Mekelle city are facing serious safety and mobility challenges in the built environment and in getting transport services as a result of the existing institutional, physical, and attitudinal barriers - research findings!
Objective of the project is to explore the safety and mobility challenges of the existing transport system in Mekelle city with respect to PWDs (Persons with disabilities)and to propose possible counter measure; and develop PWDs inclusive policy directions and strategies.
